The University of Western Sydney has teamed with Television Sydney to produce a new weekly tv news show for people looking for ideas to help them get out and about in Greater Sydney.
Premiering Friday, September 23 at 6:45pm on TVS digital channel 44, Local Loop will detail exciting community events for people looking to make the most of their weekend spare time.
Host and UWS Bachelor of Communication Arts student, Carlos Diaz, says there will be something for everyone on Local Loop.
"From art stalls, music and food festivals to sports, charity events and expos, Local Loop will appeal to everyone in the family," he says.
Local Loop is researched, produced and presented by students from the University of Western Sydney, giving them valuable firsthand experience of working in a television production unit.
"Working on Local Loop at the state of the art broadcast studios at the UWS Penrith campus has really opened my eyes to how the media works," says student and Local Loop co-host, Geline Garcia.
"From using green screens to running the auto-cue, we've all learned so much while working on the show."
The community can contribute events to the team at Local Loop by emailing localloop@list.uws.edu.au
Local Loop premieres on Friday, September 23 at 6:45pm on Television Sydney, digital channel 44.
