TVS has formed a committee to assist the channel support local community groups wishing to make programs. The committee will be chaired by Lane Blume. Ms Blume was a key member of the team that bid for the Sydney Community Television licence back in 2003.
The Producer Support Sub-Committee will undertake a number of initiatives designed to foster the creation of new programs and to assist the producers of our existing programs, including:
- Encouraging production houses to provide 'pro bono' access to equipment and facilities
- Exploring avenues to secure government grants
- Forming alliances with TAFE Colleges and other media training organisations
- Creating a list of industry professionals prepared to act as unpaid mentors
"We are delighted to welcome Lane back to TVS, especially as she played an important role in the initial stages of the establishment of TVS and because she brings a wealth of experience working with community groups," said TVS Chief Executive, Laurie Patton.
